BHARAT MERA DESH HAI!!

Above words doesn't sound unusual coming from an Indian's mouth. But from a German....!!

Yesterday we(myself and KK) had been an institute where they teach German language to foreigners. we were standing in the lounge looking here and there where to go when we heard footsteps. We encountered a lady (may be in her fifties) . After exchanging greetings she asked us, are you from India? The moment we said yes it was really amazing to see the sparkle in her eyes. She was so happy as if she met some angels from heaven. Her love for India is unexplainable. She started telling us about her stay of 3 years in India, teaching handicap children. On Knowing that we are from Karnataka she was even more excited. She has friends in Hubli,Dharwad and just loves Mysore. She is a vegetarian and started relishing idli, masala dosa, upma etc, virtually. She travels to India every year and can speak Marathi. She is a faculty in that institute and had come out of her class to get some information from the reception. Then for some time she forgot her class, talking to us about India. It is not that she expresses her love for India only to Indians, even other students of different natioanalities knows that.(our chinese friend who is a student there, told us). Before going back to her class she said, she wants to settle in India one day and can't live without India . She gave us her contact number on a paper,on top she had written BHARAT MERE DESH HAI in hindi.

I don't think any of us living abroad would feel so excited on seeing a fellow Indian and I feel we can learn a thing or two from this experience.

Hi Munny, I came across your blog through Shruthi's blog. I am so surprised to read this post. I am from Dharwad, currently staying in Munich. I am doing German course under the same teacher whom you have mentioned about.I showed it her she was very happy. She just wants to know where exactly did you meet her? I mean in which institute and which street. She will be very happy to know more about you.
